Jair Marc Castillo, born in Curaçao, has moved from one place to another, navigating between different countries and continents. At times, he felt at home, while at other times he did not. Being "on the move" has become a state of mind—something that never truly ceases. He captures every movement and encounter in black-and-white images. Black-and-white drives him toward pure emotion and emphasizes form and texture, making the motion within the still image even more pronounced. Through his aesthetic choices, such as the subtle nuances of gray tones, he invites viewers to lose themselves in the details and step into his layered universe.

Jair Marc Castillo holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Visual Arts from Luca School of Arts in Brussels. He graduated cum laude for his Master’s degree, a distinction that reflects his dedication to honing his craft and articulating his vision through his art.
